Air France to launch A380 on November 23

30 Jul 2009 by BusinessTraveller

Air France customers can now book tickets for the carrier’s forthcoming A380 service, which will commence on November 23 from Paris to New York.

A businesstraveller.com reader emailed us today to say that tickets for the service are now available online, and a quick look at the carrier’s website shows that from November 23 flight number AF006 (departing Paris at 1330 and arriving into New York at 1545) will be plied with the A380, daily except Wednesday. The return leg (AF007) departs New York at 1910, landing back in Paris at 0835 the next day.

Website airlineroute.blogspot.com (which reports changes to the airline GDS systems) is also reporting that the carrier is planning a special commemorative A380 flight on the route on November 20, with seats available through an auction in October.

As previously announced (see online news July 9) there will be nine seats in first class (La Premiere) on the lower deck, 80 in business (Affaires) on the upper deck, and a total of 449 in economy (Voyageur) split across the two decks.

Air France has yet to release an official announcement regarding the commemorative flight, and there are no details as yet as to the specific seating products onboard the Air France A380.

When Business Traveller checked today (July 30), the pricing of tickets for the A380 service was the same in economy, business and first (where available), as for the other Air France daily services on the route.
