Air France has standardised its economy, premium economy and business class branding, although it will keep "La Premiere" for its long-haul first class offering.
The changes, which came into effect earlier this week, see 'Voyageur' become simply Economy, with 'Premium Voyageur' switching to Premium Economy, and 'Affaires' becoming Business.
The carrier says that the changes, which apply to both mid and long-haul routes, will make its cabin classes "standardised, easier to understand and more international".
However the branding for its long-haul first class offering - 'La Premiere' - will remain unchanged.
It's an interesting move for the flag carrier of a country fiercely proud of its language, with the statement from the carrier saying that "Air France has chosen to adopt generic air transport terms for its travel classes, which are already well-known by its customers".
The news co-incides with Air France's plans to revamp its business and first class cabins on its B777 aircraft from 2014 (click here for more information).
