Air Canada has resurrected its seasonal service between Manchester and Toronto.

Flights are being operated by its leisure subsidiary Air Canada Rouge using a B767, and will operate between now and September 30.

There will be up to six non-stop flights every week and schedules are:

  • AC1931 Manchester-Toronto departs 1245, arrives 1530
  • AC1930 Toronto-Manchester departs 2310, arrives 1100 the following day

These direct flights will prove popular for travellers based in the North of England.

It means that if they want to book an Air Canada product they can now fly from their local airport rather than incur the extra expense and travel time of heading south to London Heathrow.

Air Canada is using its Rouge subsidiary to operate a number of seasonal routes between Canada and Europe which would be unprofitable were it to use its mainline division.

The carrier also recently launched seasonal flights from Gatwick and Glasgow to Toronto.
