Low-cost carrier Air Asia X is currently offering return fares from London Stansted to Kuala Lumpur in its Premium class for £700 return.

The seat sale is valid for bookings made until August 9, for travel between now and April 30, 2010.

When businesstraveller.com checked today (August 3) for flights departing London on Tuesday September 7, returning Thursday September 10, the £700 return fare (including taxes) was available, and compared favourably with a £566 fare in economy class.

Air Asia X plies the Stansted-KL route with A340-300 aircraft, configured for 30 Premium seats (previously known as XL seats) with a seat pitch of 60 inches.

Note that these fares do not include “extras” such as checked baggage (from £5 per piece depending on weight), amenity kits (£5), or meals (£9 on the London-KL leg, £3.60 on the return leg from KL).
