Accor is to rebrand 24 former Jarvis hotels within its growing Mercure portfolio, bringing the total number of UK properties under the brand to 68.

The franchise agreement with the new owners of the properties – Jupiter Hotels Ltd – follows similar deals earlier this year  with Focus Hotels and London Town Hotels (see online news January 13 and February 28 repsectively), and will add 2,664 rooms to Mercure’s UK offering.

Among the rebranded hotels include the Mercure Edinburgh Mount Royal Hotel, the Mercure Brighton Seafront Hotel, and the Mercure Leeds Parkway Hotel. A full list of the properties is detailed below.

The agreement is part of Accor’s plans to increase its UK portfolio to 300 hotels by 2015. Last month the group announced a revamp of its budget offering, regrouping its All Seasons and Etap Hotels brands under the Ibis name (see online news September 13).
