American Airlines launches new business / first amenity kits

Premium passengers flying with American Airlines between London and the US will benefit from new amenity kits starting from the start of September, including new bed toppers, duvets, pyjamas and slippers for first class passengers. The new products are being launched on B777 and B767-300 flights between London Heathrow and the US from September 1, followed by flights to and from Europe operated by B757 aircraft from October 1. AA says it will be the only US airline to offer its first class customers “a soft, quilted bed topper, cozy duvet, slippers for lounging and comfortable pyjamas”. Those on B777 aircraft can also opt for a “light-weight day blanket”. Both first and business class customers will get the carrier’s redesigned amenity kit, with items including Dermalogica skin care products, socks, eyeshades, earplugs, toothbrush, toothpaste, lip balm, tissues, towelette, comb and a pen. Last week AA announced plans to formalise its Million Milers loyalty programme, offering benefits including lifetime elite tier status, but with stricter rules on points eligibility than the unofficial programme it is replacing – for more information see online news August 25.
