AA and BA open first joint lounge at Denver

1 Dec 2010 by BusinessTraveller
British Airways and American Airlines have opened their first joint lounge since the launch of the carriers' transatlantic tie-up. The Admirals Club lounge is located in Terminal A at Denver International airport (from where both carriers operate), having previously been housed in Terminal C. The 5,115 square foot lounge has design features including "rustic and organic elements that reflect the unique characteristics of Colorado", with chiselled stone walls and back-lit resin panels. Facilities include seating for 124 guests, a mobile-free quiet zone, Cyber Cafe with HP TouchSmart PCs, a conference room, children's area, and a business centre with HP Compaq PCs and fax, photocopier and printing services. Food and beverage options include salads, sandwiches, "hot entrees and small bites", as well as free alcoholic beverages, tea, coffee, soft drinks and juices (premium spirits, wine and beer are available for purchase). Free wifi is available to Admirals Club members, one-day pass holders, AA, BA and Iberia customers with flights on BA or Iberia services, and customers travelling on AA international flights on full-fare first or business class tickets. The new lounge is located at the north end of Terminal A, via the  Jeppesen pedestrian bridge or the Denver International Airport train. It is staffed by both AA and BA representatives, and is open daily from 0515 to 2330. To celebrate the opening AA is offering a US$75 discount on Admirals Club memberships when purchased from the new Denver lounge before January 31. AA recently completed the refurbishment of its Admirals Club lounge at Heathrow T3 (see online news May 17). Visit ba.com, aa.com. Report by Mark Caswell
