India’s national carrier, Air India has upgraded its Delhi-Chennai sector from a A321 to a B777 aircraft. The wide body aircraft flies two of  five daily services on this route.

The move is in step with the full service airline’s plans to “provide a rich flying experience to the travellers”. In February, Air India upgraded its Delhi-Bhopal sector to the A320; and earlier still, to the B787 on the Dubai-Kochi route.

Flight AI-439 departs from Delhi at 0605 and arrives in Chennai at 0845. Return flight AI-430 takes off from Chennai at 0955 and reaches Delhi at 1255.

In the evening, AI-042 leaves Delhi at 1720 and reaches Chennai at 2005. Return flight AI-043 departs from Chennai at 2110 hours and arrives in Delhi at 2355.

The 342-seater wide body B777 aircraft comes in a three-class configuration: first class (four seats), business class (35 seats) and economy class (303 seats).
