Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has revealed its expansion plans across Asia at Arabian Travel Mart 2017 in Dubai.

The Hong Kong-based hotel company has announced the opening of new properties including Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo that will open later this year. The much anticipated Colombo hotel will complement Shangri-La Hambantota and Spa, that opened in June 2016.

Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo will feature 466 guest rooms, 41 serviced apartments and 35 suites. The hotel will be located between Galle Face Green promenade and Beira Lake, overlooking views of the Indian ocean.

It will feature five restaurants and bar, including an authentic Chinese restaurant, a casual bar and terrace, a lobby lounge and a grill-house. Shangri-La, Colombo will boast of large-scale MICE facilities that can accommodate up to 2,000 delegates.

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts will also open Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong on April 28. Its Singapore property’s 503-room Tower Wing will be relaunched in May. In addition, the 450-room Hotel Jen in Beijing will open in June.

The group’s rapid Asian expansion will continue with the openings of Shangri-La Hotel, Yiwu in mid-May, Shangri-La Hotel, Xiamen and Shangri-La Hotel, Jinan in the third quarter of this year.

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts operates 95 hotels across 22 countries.
