Wow Air has announced a new service from Reykjavik to Chicago.

From July 13, the low cost carrier will offer a one-stop service, with connections available four times weekly from London Gatwick, Edinburgh and Bristol airports via the Icelandic capital.

The Chicago service departs Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with the following schedules:

  • Departs Reykjavik at 1500, arriving in Chicago at 1640 local time.
  • Departs Chicago at 1740, arriving in Reykjavik at 0500 local time.

The route is the 10th transatlantic service launched by the low cost airline, with flights to Pittsburgh, New York, Washington DC, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Miami.

Founder and CEO of Wow Air Skúli Mogensen said:

“I’m thrilled to add Chicago as our tenth North American destination, offering ultra-low fares to UK travellers who may not have previously considered travel to this exciting city viable. This is our fourth new long haul route announcement in just a few months, bringing our network now up to a total of 32 destinations.”

The carrier recently announced the launch of premium-style seats and optional add-ons as part of a new tiered pricing system, available from June 1st.
