Royal Lancaster London is due to open its doors in September following a £80 million renovation.

Originally opened in 1967, the renovation will feature a dramatic new entrance façade and reception lobby, alongside an update of all 411 rooms and suites, led by design consultancy Studio Proof.

The lobby will be divided into a number of isolated spaces, including a new bar. It will feature a subtle colour palette and luxury materials such as white marble, gold, polished brass and bronze, alongside a curved marble staircase from which guests on the first floor can survey the ground floor.

Rooms are designed to complement the views across Hyde Park using luxury fabrics, minimalist bronze and glass elements and bespoke light fittings.

In a nod to the hotel’s 1960s roots, the renovated suites’ have paired the hotel’s original, mid-century design with eccentric British accents from the era. The exterior design will feature vertical strata across an eight-metre glazed façade.
