Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the country’s national carrier, has launched a Premier service on its six A330-300s, wet-leased from SriLankan Airlines.

Wet-lease is when one airline leases an aircraft with cockpit and cabin crew to another airline in return for a barter/payment.

The service is available on flights from Islamabad and Lahore to London Heathrow.

This service will go a long way in helping PIA regain its market share both domestically as well as internationally,” states PIA. The airline has reported losses of 27.8 billion Pakistani rupees in 2015. It adds, ”With new aircraft, more professional crew and improved service standards, the new service aims at providing an altogether different experience to passengers.”

Premium service on the A330 aircraft includes in-flight entertainment with 250 channels displayed on LCD screens across all cabin classes. Business class passengers enjoy a flat-bed service. A free limousine service is available to premier business class passengers on arrival at Heathrow, for transfer within a 25km radius of the airport.
