InterContinental Hotels Group has launched the IHG Business Rewards promotion, where members can earn 50 per cent extra IHG Rewards Club points on a spend value of US$20,000 (₹13,50,000), when booking for “friends”.
The hospitality group says: “Corporate travel is considered an investment to grow an organisation’s business. Corporate travel grows with, and indeed fuels, economic growth. Business related travel in India is estimated to grow at over 10 per cent in 2016 and further 10 per cent in 2017, and could account for US$36.1 billion (approximately ₹2,42,000 crore) in spending in 2017 according to Global Business Travel Association, GBTA. With IHG Business Rewards programme, corporates stand to save significantly on their expenses related to accommodation, events and meetings.”
The promotion will run for three months — September 1 to November 30 — when booking accommodation, meetings and events (for corporate houses/groups), and until August 31, 2017 for events and stays.
Members will go back to earning the usual points for every US$1 spent above US$20,000 — as per their membership category.
Further, 10,000 and 20,000 IHG Rewards Club points will be earned for individual bookings valued at US$10,000/₹6,70,000 and US$20,000/₹13,50,000 respectively.
Samantha Llewellyn, vice president of customer loyalty marketing in Asia, Middle East and Africa for IHG says, “Our new Booker Bonus Points Promotion, designed specifically to reward our loyal corporate bookers, offers these members the kinds of exciting benefits and experiences that are personally relevant – and importantly, valuable – to them. Introducing bonus point offers like this enables us to build more value within our rewards programme.”
