25 Apr 2016 by Clement Huang

V Air has announced that it will operate a three-times-weekly service between Taipei Taoyuan and Okinawa from July 1.

The Taiwan-based low-cost carrier began operating in 2014 and currently serves nine routes throughout Asia, with all flights lasting four hours or less.

The Taipei–Okinawa route will operate every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with an estimated flight time of 80 minutes. Flight ZV228 will depart Taipei at 1230 and arrive in Okinawa at 1450. The return service, on flight ZV229, will take off from Okinawa at 1550 before touching back down in Taipei at 1615.

Flights will be operated by both the A320 and A321, with both aircraft sporting an all-economy configuration. The former has 180 seats, while the latter offers 194.

To commemorate the route, V Air is offering an introductory fare starting at NT$888 (US$27), which will be available for booking between 9am on April 26 and 11:59pm on April 29 (or until sold out). Normal priced fares will start at NT$1,500 (US$46).
