Hilton Worldwide plans to open 20 new hotels in India.

As a part of its expansion in the country, the group launched its luxury Conrad brand in Pune earlier this month month (see news April 7).

“In the next two years, we are looking to open Hilton Goa, Hilton Garden Inn Lucknow, and Conrad Bangalore,” said Rupert Hallam, vice president, Sales — Asia Pacific, Hilton Worldwide.

“As India is a very strategic market for us, we will surely grow in this market.”

Five out of Hilton’s 13 brands are currently represented in India, with expansion plans focusing on Hilton, Conrad, Doubletree by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn brands.

The group says it is looking at a sustainable approach for development in India with “the right brands in the right locations with the right partners”.
