Air Canada is to launch wifi connectivity on its international services later this year.

The flag carrier will begin fitting Gogo 2Ku satellite technology on its wide-body fleet from this autumn, starting with B777 aircraft.

Commenting on the move Benjamin Smith, president, passenger airlines at Air Canada said:

"While business travellers will welcome satellite wifi service as a productivity tool, it will have widespread appeal for all travellers by allowing them to stay in touch, access the internet and enjoy additional entertainment options throughout their entire journey."

Air Canada already offers wifi on all of its 129-strong narrow-body fleet serving North America.
