Andaz to debut in Vienna

15 Mar 2016 by BusinessTraveller

Hyatt has announced plans for a new 300-room Andaz property in the Austrian capital Vienna.

The Andaz Am Belvedere Vienna will be located next to the Belvedere Palace and opposite Vienna’s Schweizergarten, and is scheduled to open in 2019.

The project will be led by Pritzker Prize winning architect Renzo Piano (responsible for The Shard in London), and will comprise two separate buildings “connected by interwoven bridges”, with a shared lounge on the ground floor.

There will be a spa and fitness centre on the fourth floor, a 16th-floor rooftop bar, 2,200sqm of conference space including a 700sqm ballroom, and an underground car park with charging stations for electric vehicles.

The hotel will also offer a lobby bar and “a new restaurant concept that will be open to guests as well as hotel associates and will allow for guests and colleagues to connect in a new and meaningful way“.

The property will be developed with real estate company Signa, which also developed the Parky Hyatt Vienna.

According to Hyatt the Andaz Am Belvedere Vienna will feature “contemporary, local art and design that will immerse guests in the history of both Prince Eugene and the city of Vienna”.

The property will be located five minutes’ walk from Vienna Central Station, and 20 minutes’ drive from the city’s international airport.
