Qatar Airways now serves Nagpur in India

4 Dec 2015 by Clement Huang

Qatar Airways is now offering nonstop flights between its base in Doha and Nagpur, India.

The daily service means that the Oneworld member now operates a total of 102 weekly flights to cities in India – up from 95 previously.

As the third largest city in the Indian state of Maharashtra, Nagpur is a major trade and business centre that has been identified by the Government of India as one of its flagship smart metropolises. The city has a designated special economic zone and international cargo hub, while a new airport is currently in the pipeline.

Qatar Airways operates an A320 to Nagpur with an average flight time of just over four hours. The single-aisle aircraft features a two-class configuration, with 12 seats in business and 132 in economy.

Flight QR588 departs Doha at 1955 and arrives in Nagpur at 0215 the following day. The return service on flight QR589 will then take off from Nagpur at 0345 before touching back down in Doha at 0555.

The ostensibly inconvenient timing of the flight out of Nagpur allows passengers to conveniently connect through Doha onwards to destinations such as Barcelona, London, Paris and Rome in Europe, and Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami, New York, Philadelphia and Washington DC in the US.
