2 Nov 2015 by Tamsin Cocks

Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas is set to launch two new luxury resorts in China next year.

Located in southwest China’s Guizhou province, Anantara Guiyang Resort & Spa will offer a retreat surrounded by natural beauty. Known as both the “Forest City” for having the highest percentage of forest coverage, and the “Summer capital of China” for its moderate climate, Guiyang offers verdant mountains, hot springs and waterfalls.

The 207 guestrooms plus 11 pool villas come with modern comforts, including high-speed internet and international TV. Other onsite facilities include three restaurants, the Anantara Spa, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, health and fitness facilities and a children’s club. Nearby there is also a golf course and cultural sites such as the ancient town of Zhengyuan.

The resort will be 15 kilometres from Guiyang city, and a 15-minute drive from Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport and the train station.

Next year will also see the opening of Anantara Qiandao Lake Resort & Spa in Hangzhou.

The 120 rooms and villas offer views over Qiandao Lake, which is scattered with 1,078 jade-like islands and surrounded by mountains and caves.

Guests will be able to enjoy fine dining experiences or learn how to create classic Chinese dishes under the tutelage of a master chef. Pampering sessions will also be on hand at the Anantara spa.

The resort will be a 90-minute drive from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport or two and a half hours from Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
