Vietnam Airlines is adding an extra weekly service on to its nonstop London Heathrow-Ho Chi Minh City route.
From October 25, the carrier will fly a B787-9 three-times weekly between the two cities. It also operates a three-times weekly service between LHR and Hanoi.
The airline, which is the first southeast Asian carrier to to serve Europe with the B787-9, said it plans to run a daily service between Heathrow and Vietnam next summer.
Currently, flights VN54/55 between LHR and Hanoi fly on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while flights VN50/51 operate on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
All of Vietnam Airlines' services are being operated by the Dreamliner, which it took delivery of in early August (see news, August 8).
The airline switched its London operations from Gatwick to Heathrow airport earlier this year (see news, January 2015).
