Australians flying into Singapore can take advantage of automated immigration lanes at Changi Airport from October 1.
The electronic clearence lanes are available throughout all three terminals at Singapore Changi Airport, and are usually reserved for citizens and permanent residents of the Lion City.
Given that Singaporeans are able to use the automated SmartGate immigration lanes at a number of major Australian airports (e.g. Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Perth, Gold Coast and Darwin), this reciprocal act represents a natural development for the ongoing partnership between Australia and Singapore.
To gain access to the automated immigration lanes in Singapore, Australian passport holders must first provide a passport-sized photo of themselves, and register for the service at Changi Terminal 3.
There are no fees applicable for enrolment to the service, and Australians can then use the automated lanes for up to two years.
