Emirates ups frequency to Phuket

17 Aug 2015 by GrahamSmith

Emirates will roster four further flights to Phuket from December 1 to operate a total of 11 weekly services.

The Gulf airline currently flies a daily B777-300ER service as EK378/379 to the Thai island.

The additional four flights will also be operated by a B777-300ER, with eight seats in first, 42 in business and 310 in economy.

Outbound service EK396 will depart Dubai on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 2255 and arrive in Phuket at 0800 the next day, while return service EK397 will leave Phuket on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 0930 and arrive in Dubai at 1320.

Thierry Antinori, Emirates' executive vice president and CCO, said: "Since the launch in 2012, Phuket has been a solid success story...

"These new flights have been well-timed to not only maximise connections across our network but also allow for a morning arrival in Phuket."

Emirates also operates 42 weekly flights to Bangkok.

Earlier this month, the carrier signed a new codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways, adding 19 routes, including to Phuket and 14 new destinations to the Emirates network (see news, August 5).
