Lufthansa is relegating its Dusseldorf-Chicago service to a summer seasonal operation.
The German airline had been scheduled to fly between the two cities five-times weekly this winter.
But now flights LH436/437 will not operate between October 25 and March 26, thereby ending what was a year-round service, reports airlineroute.net.
This winter, Lufthansa will also replace the A340-300 aircraft that it flies between Dusseldorf and Newark to an A330-300.
Last week, it emerged that the carrier will stop flying to Jakarta this winter (see news, June 19).
