Qatar Airways reduces Paris A380 operation

15 May 2015 by GrahamSmith

Qatar Airways will reduce the number of A380 services into Paris in September to allow it to double its superjumbo operation to Bangkok.

The Gulf carrier said it will replace one of the two A380s rostered on to the Doha–Paris route with a smaller A330-300.

The A380 will be used to serve the airline's Doha–Bangkok route instead.

From September 16, flights QR41 and QR42 to Paris Charles de Gaulle will be operated by the A330, which features the same three-class configuration as the superjumbo.

However, overall capacity is reduced with the A330 offering 12 seats in first class, 24 in business and 225 in economy. This compares to the A380's eight suites in first class, 48 seats in business and 461 in economy.

Flights QR830 and QR831 to and from Bangkok will be A380-operated, according to the airline. This will complement the existing single A380 service to the Thai capital with flights QR836/QR833.
