Singapore Airlines (SIA) has unveiled a new Silver Kris Lounge at Heathrow Airport, following its move to the Queen’s Terminal last year.

The new facility, designed by ONG&ONG is open to first and business class customers. It adheres to the airline’s “home away from home” concept first seen in SIA’s Sydney lounge (see here).

Located in T2B near gate B36, the entrance of the new Silver Kris Lounge features the signature batik design screen – a staple of new lounge designs (see here).

There are dedicated areas for first and business class customers, with a total of 208 seats. In the first class section, guests will be enjoy in-seat service, including a welcome drink on arrival, as well as a hot towel service similar to those offered onboard.

In addition, there are now individual sitting and dining areas in the lounge. Once again, the specially designed productivity pods that were pioneered by the airline are also available and provide a private enclosure for customers to work or eat in peace.

There is also a completely new Gallery space near the entrance of the lounge. Accessible to both first and business class customers, this area includes carefully curated art pieces, select self-service drinks and snacks, as well as a travel concierge facility for quick assistance with flights and seating.

Customer familiar with SIA’s “home away from home” concept will recognise the carrier’s commitment to delivering a “taste of Singapore” theme – which celebrates the rich culinary culture of the Lion City.

Along with the standard self-service buffet area, first class passengers will also be able to enjoy an a la carte offering, where five different menus will operate throughout the day including Singaporean favourites Laksa and Hainanese Chicken Rice. These will be served alongside traditional English fare, such as an afternoon tea menu – expected to be a popular choice for many.

Meanwhile, business class customers will be able to enjoy a self-service buffet, as well as drinks at a bar. Expect to find an attractive range of premium drinks and freshly prepared cocktails, including the iconic Singapore Sling. First class passengers also have access to the bar area.

“Our new SilverKris Lounge at Heathrow brings Ong&Ong’s ‘home away from home’ concept to the UK and Europe for the first time,” said Wilson Yong, general manager Singapore Airlines UK & Ireland.

“We believe the familiar, homely environment will be well received by our customers as we provide them with comfort and the feeling of being taken care of at every step of their journey”.

The new Silver Kris lounge at Heathrow Terminal 2 is available for first and business class customers travelling with Singapore Airlines or any other Star Alliance carrier. In addition, Krisflyer Gold and Star Alliance Gold cardholders are afforded entry too.

Opening hours are from 07:15am to 10pm daily.
