Easyjet has added an update to its mobile app that provides personalised instructions and reminders for passengers travelling through London Gatwick.
"Mobile Host" uses live data from the airport's information systems and Google indoor maps.
It combines this information with the Easyjet passenger's booking details, location and flight time and sends alerts to his phone.
These alerts include check-in reminders and confirmation of booked baggage allowances; directions to bag drop, departures and gate locations; and real-time gate and baggage belt push notifications.
The facility will initially be available at Gatwick and is available in seven languages, Easyjet said.
James Millett, Easyjet's head of digital, said: "Passengers can now relax in the airport without the need to keep checking screens waiting for flight and gate information to appear.
"As soon as the gate opens, the Mobile Host within our app will notify them and explain where the gate is.
"This latest innovation is the result of true collaboration and integrates live data from Gatwick Data Services with passenger booking information and indoor mapping, giving real benefit."
Last year, Easyjet added a passport scanning function to its mobile app (see news, October 2014).
