Singapore Airlines’ loyalty programme Krisflyer has revealed details of how its members can redeem miles for travel with Scoot or Tigerair flights.
As previously reported by Business Traveller Asia-Pacific (see here), Scoot’s chief executive Campbell Wilson revealed earlier this year that unlike the traditional means of redeeming points for full fares, Krisflyer members would instead use their miles to redeem for cash vouchers that can be used to offset the cost of fares or even purchase products or upgrades inflight.
Krisflyer has now confirmed this news. With immediate effect, electronic vouchers can be purchased for both Scoot and Tigerair. The vouchers are available for redemption on the Krisflyer website (via the “My miles” tab), and come in three denominations. The full details are shown below:
After purchasing their vouchers, members can book their flights on the websites of the two Singapore-based low-cost carriers. When prompted for payment, there is now a voucher option where customers can input their voucher number and receive a discount on their fares.
“These new partnerships will provide our members with even more ways to use their miles across the SIA Group’s portfolio of airlines,” said Singapore Airlines senior vice president marketing planning, Lee Wen Fen.
Although details have not been revealed, Singapore Airlines has confirmed that its Krisflyer members will also have the option to earn miles on Scoot and Tigerair flights later this year.
