Delta Air Lines will launch a daily service between New York JFK and Manchester on May 22.
The US carrier will roster a B757-200 aircraft on the route.
Outbound service DL234 will depart JFK at 2224 and arrive in Manchester at 1030 the next day, while return service DL235 will leave Manchester at 1200 and land in New York at 1451.
Next month, Delta will commence a daily Philadelphia to London Heathrow service (see news, November 24).
This weekend, Delta and its transatlantic partner Virgin Atlantic will transfer operations with Virgin taking over Delta's Manchester to Atlanta service and Delta flying on of Virgin's London Heathrow to New York Newark services.
During summer 2015, Delta flights between LHR and Boston, Los Angeles and New York will operate from Terminal 3 alongside all Virgin Atlantic services. Delta flights from Heathrow to Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis-St Paul, Philadelphia and Seattle will operate from Terminal 4.
