Intercontinental Hotel Group has debuted its boutique Hotel Indigo brand in Southeast Asia with the opening of Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road.
The 192-room property has a distinctive local design, incorporating elements of its surrounding neighbourhood. This includes vertical gardens to reflect the city’s iconic Lumpini Park; street art murals depicting the story of the surrounding area; and custom artwork such as a wall of wireless radios reflecting the area’s history as the birthplace of the country’s wireless radio stations.
“This part of Bangkok has long been associated with Thailand’s love of radio and the King’s music,” said Oliver Horn, general manager of Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road. “Wireless Road is in the heart of the city and our neighbours include award winning restaurants, art galleries, parks, shopping malls and cultural landmarks”.
Guestrooms include spa-inspired bathrooms, locally sourced toiletries, private balconies and complimentary wifi. In addition, the hotel has an open air infinity pool and deck that overlooks views of the city.
Finally, there are currently two F&B outlets available. Metro on Wireless serves Thai and Western cuisine, with recipes inspired by the local community. Meanwhile, the hotel’s 22 Steps cocktail bar offers a relaxing space for guests to enjoy Thai-themed cocktails, prepared by top mixologists. Later this year the brand’s signature dining venue, CHAR, will also open its doors.
