Accor has outlined plans to open seven Ibis hotels in the UK, including one at London Heathrow airport.
Four Ibis Styles properties will open this year — a 112-room hotel in Crewe, a 117-room hotel in Barnsley, a 102-room hotel in Haydock and a 166-room hotel at Birmingham NEC.
All four of these properties will open under a franchise agreement with Carillion and will be operated by Kew Green Hotels.
In early 2016, a new-build Ibis Styles with 47 rooms will open on the Greenwich peninsula as a franchise agreement with Conqueror Holdings.
An Ibis Styles will open at London Heathrow in summer 2016. It will have 140-rooms and is part of a franchise agreement with Acre Heathrow Limited.
Lastly, Ibis London Canning Town will contain 196 rooms and will be housed within the Hallsville Quarter development. No opening date has been given, but the hotel is part of the new mixed-use scheme by property development company Bouygues Development.
Thomas Dubaere, Accor's managing director in UK & Ireland, said: "These new Ibis and Ibis Styles hotels signal our ambition to strengthen the Ibis brands in the UK.
"The franchise deal for Crewe, Barnsley, Haydock, Birmingham and Greenwich not only reflects the strength of the Ibis Styles brand, but recognises our excellent position as a franchise partner.
"These new signings are in line with our ongoing strategy to grow our economy offering."
Accor opened its second Ibis property in Edinburgh a year ago (see news, February 2014). Subscribers can read a recent review of Ibis Styles Kensington here.
