Qatar Airways will launch a direct service between Doha and Sofia in March.
The Gulf airline, which currently flies to the Bulgarian captial via Bucharest, will start flying direct on March 1.
The five-times weekly route will operate each day except for on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Outbound service QR225 will depart Doha at 0735 and land in Sofia at 1240 local time, while return service QR226 will leave Sofia at 1645 and arrive back in Doha at 2220 local time.
Qatar Airways will also add an extra weekly flight onto both its Ankara and Zagreb routes on March 1 - the former will from that date see six weekly flights and the latter five.
CEO Akbar Al Baker said: "Qatar Airways is expanding rapidly, not only in terms of new destinations and our network offering, but also with the service we offer.
"Complementing our five-star service in the skies are our transfer facilities at the newly unveiled state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport, coupled with the experience of flying on board one of the youngest fleets in the industry."
Also on March 1, Qatar Airways will add a second daily A350 XWB aircraft onto its Frankfurt route (see news, January 13).
