Artyzen Hospitality Group has announced plans to bring Citizen M, a lifestyle hotel concept, to Asia.

The brand, first launched in Amsterdam back in 2008, now boasts a total of seven hotels in cities such as London, Paris and New York. A further six hotels are in the pipeline, and they are expected to boost the number of rooms available globally to 3,000.

The first Citizen M hotel in Asia is slated for opening in Taipei in 2017. It will be located in the colourful retail and entertainment district of Ximending, close to the city’s pedestrianised shopping area and railway station. Like all Citizen M hotels, it will feature a “hive” living room lobby concept filled with art and designer furniture, along with multiple zones to work, meet and connect.

Another signature is the on-site food and beverages outlets, such as canteenM, a 24-hour full cocktail bar and restaurant. Check-in and check-out processes are done via touch-screen terminals with assistance from the hotel’s ambassadors.

“Establishing our presence across Asia’s gateway cities tops our list of priorities and as we celebrate the signing of the first Citizen M hotel in Taipei, we are also setting our sights on keys cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, Jakarta and Bangkok,” said Robbert van der Mass, president, Artyzen Hospitality Group.
