Korean Air winter coat check service extended

4 Dec 2014 by Tamsin Cocks

Passengers departing from Gimhae Airport in Busan can now take advantage of Korean Air’s winter coat check service.

The handy service, first launched at Incheon Airport in 2005, means travellers can leave bulky winter coats in the airline’s storage facilities and don’t have to lug them to warmer countries on its network such as Thailand, Hawaii and Australia.

To make use of the service, passengers at Gimhae International Airport simply need to show their boarding pass at the coat check facility, located on the second floor of the international terminal, and keep the receipt for retrieval.

The facility is open between 5.40am and 9.30pm everyday from now until 28 February 2015. Passengers on a day return can enjoy this service for free, otherwise a small surcharge of KRW 500 (US$0.50) will be applied per day.

At Incheon Airport, the coat storage service is available 24 hours a day and passengers are entitled to free storage of one coat for five days, before incurring a fee of KRW 2,500 (US$2) per day.
