17 Jul 2014 by GrahamSmith

British Airways will fly to Fuerteventura for the first time in ten years from December.

The year-round leisure route will be operated by A319 and A320 aircraft, both of which will feature the carrier's new short-haul cabin product (see news, July 11).

From December 13, the twice-weekly service between London Gatwick and Fuerteventura will run on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

On Wednesdays, outward flight BA2700 departs LGW at 1430 and arrives in Fuerteventura at 1850. Return service BA2701 leaves Fuerteventura at 1935 and lands at Gatwick at 2345.

On Saturdays, outward flight BA2700 takes off from LGW at 1140 and lands in Fuerteventura at 1600, while return flight BA2701 departs Fuerteventura at 1645 and arrives back at Gatwick at 2055.

Colm Lacy, BA's commercial director for Gatwick said: "We are pleased to be adding Fuerteventura to our network. The Canary Islands are proving increasingly popular with our customers, especially during the winter months."
