Hotel Nikko Hong Kong will be rebranded and become New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel starting July 1.
The announcement has been made by Fergurson Hotel Holdings (the owning company), a joint venture owning company consisting of Chow Tai Fook and Singapore-owned Millennium & Copthorne Hotels.
Meanwhile, the rebranded hotel will be operated by Fergurson Hotel Management – a joint venture company that consists of Hong Kong-based New World Hotels and Millennium & Copthorne.
Hotel Nikko Hong Kong is managed by JAL Hotels Company, and will remain so until the end of June 30.
The hotel’s rebranding process will include a HK$120 million (US$15.5 million) renovation, which will be conducted in phases to allow the hotel to continue operation while works are being done. According to a spokesperson for New World Hotels, the process is still in the "planning stage", and no details are available yet.
The 464 guestrooms and suites with seven dining options in the property will remain, at least initially, as will the meeting facilities such as the grand ballroom and 10 meeting rooms. There are also a health club and a rooftop pool.
