Intercontinental Hotels Group has announced three new UK and Ireland properties under its brand aimed at “value oriented travellers”.
The 80-room Holiday Inn Express Grimsby is scheduled to open towards the end of 2015, and will be located close to the town’s main railway station.
This will be followed by the 198-room Holiday Inn Express Dublin City Centre (rendering below) in 2016. The hotel will be situated on O’Connell Street in the city’s shopping district, and will join the existing Holiday Inn Express Dublin Airport.
Finally the 138-room Holiday Inn Express Middlesborough Centre Square is also set to be unveiled in 2016, and will be housed within a converted office building located on the town’s main square.
The new developments will add to the 219 existing Holiday Inn Express properties across Europe, with a further 38 currently in the pipeline (figures as of the end of March).
Earlier this year IHG unveiled a new prototype for its Holiday Inn Express brand (see online news March 27), although at present this design is only focussed on the US and Canadian market.
