Hilton Hotels & Resorts has opened its newest China property, Hilton Foshan, in prosperous Guangdong province.
Part of a mixed-use development in upcoming Dongping New Town, the hotel is an hour’s drive from Guangzhou and two hours from Shenzhen and Zhuhai. One of southern China’s most significant manufacturing hubs, Foshan also offers good links to Hong Kong and Macau.
Hilton’s newest property features a striking lobby dominated by 4.2-metre high aquarium, which features more than 1,000 fish. There is a sitting area on top of it, which is part of the hotel's all-day dining restaurant, OPEN (pictured below).
The 27-storey Hilton Foshan offers 600 guestrooms with either garden or city views. Incorporating oriental elements, the modern décor features textured fabric carpets and highly varnished wood. Rooms utilise a mixture of bold and light colours to accentuate the distinctive look.
Complimentary wifi is available throughout the hotel, while rooms feature the brand's signature Serenity beds, a 42-inch LED television, workstations, and mini bar facilities. The workstation chair is ergonomically designed to recline based on each individual's lumbar curve and helps improve posture.
Multiple universal power sockets are located around each guestroom, while each bathroom offers a bathtub and rainforest shower. In addition, the hotel has partnered with Peter Thomas Roth to provide facial and body cleansing products for guests.
There are five food and beverages available in the hotel including all-day dining restaurant OPEN, so-called for the outlet's open-kitchen concept. Chinese restaurant Yuxi serves authentic Cantonese cuisine, while a yet-to-be-opened Japanese restaurant Yuu, will offer teppanyaki, robatayaki and sushi. Lobby bar Lu and lounge bar Aqua round out the food and beverage options.
According to Hilton Foshan's general manager, Michael Bamberg, the majority of guests are expected to be attending conferences and events at the property. The hotel’s extensive meeting facilities include a 1,300 sqm grand ballroom (pictured below), two boardrooms and 29 other event spaces.
The hotel’s recreational facilities include a 24-hour fitness centre, two outdoor swimming pools, an indoor swimming pool and a spa centre.
