Norwegian to fly B787 from Bergen to JFK

19 Dec 2013 by GrahamSmith

Norwegian will deploy a B787 Dreamliner on a new route between Bergen and New York JFK next summer.

From May 9 until September 27, the once-weekly service will depart JFK on Fridays at 2100 and land in Bergen at 1035 the following day.

The return service leaves Bergen on Saturdays at 1820 and lands at JFK at 2005.

Norwegian CEO Bjorn Kjos said: "New York to Bergen has been a long-awaited route and I'm very happy to announce that for the first time in decades, the US and Bergen will get its first direct connection.

"Norwegian's routes between Scandinavia and New York have been very well received, and I am looking forward to welcoming even more Americans on board our brand new Dreamliners on our non-stop service to Bergen."

In October, Norwegian announced that it will fly between London Gatwick and three points in the US — JFK, Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale — from June 2014 (see news, October 17).
