The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore opens

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has officially opened the doors of its first hotel in India.

Located on Residency Road, The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore is situated close to the famous Brigade Road, one of the biggest commercial centres of the city.

Bangalore is India’s third largest city, often referred to as the "Silicon Valley of India". Four hundred of the top Fortune 500 companies have a presence here. The city is also known for its rich cultural heritage and natural greenery that has also earned it a reputation as "The Garden City".

The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore feature 277 guestrooms, with the hotel’s interior design inspired by the jaali (lattice screen) from the Mughal era. In addition, many architectural features such as the pointed archways and the use of white marble are reminiscent of the famous Taj Mahal.

Guests staying at the executive floor can take advantage of the services offered at the Ritz-Carlton Club lounge, including six food and beverage presentations, computer workstations and a dedicated concierge.

The hotel introduces seven dining venues to the city, which are all run by Michelin-star chef Anupam Banerjee. Notable ones include The Lantern, which is a three-storey Chinese dim sum restaurant shaped like a glass lantern; all-day dining room The Market; and the signature fine dining restaurant Riwaz, featuring authentic local dishes from India’s North West Frontier.

In terms of facilities, The Ritz-Carlton Spa offers an extensive range of services including native Ayurvedic treatments. The hotel’s health and beauty features also include a gym, an outdoor swimming pool as well as a Rossano Ferretti salon.

Finally, meeting and event facilities offered at the hotel include a 600sqm ballroom, one boardroom and three function rooms.
