Thai Smile, the light premium brand of Thai Airways, has commenced operations to two new destinations in China – Chongqing and Changsha.
Chongqing is a major city in Southwest China and is one of the country's major manufacturing centres, known mainly for its motor vehicle production. For a more detailed report on the city, see here.
The Thai carrier will be flying three round trip flights per week from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Changsha is the capital of Hunan province and a major tourist destination with numerous historical museums including the Mawangdui Tombs from the Han Dynasty and UNESCO world heritage site Wulingyuan scenic area.
Thai Smile will operate three round trips per week from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Changsha Huanghua International Airport on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, and plans to add flights on Monday and Saturday in January.
The new routes are serviced by an Airbus A320 which features a two-class configuration with 16 seats in business class and 156 in economy.
