Peach to start Osaka-Kaohsiung service

28 Oct 2013

Peach Aviation has announced that it will launch a service from Osaka to Kaohsiung starting January 18. This will be the airline’s third Taiwan operation following the Osaka-Taipei and Okinawa-Taipei routes.

The service will depart Osaka daily at 1150 and arrive in Kaohsiung at 1420, while the return leg will leave Taiwan at 1455 and land in Japan at 1835. A 180-seat A320-200 will be used for the service. Fares will range from ¥7,980 (US$82) to ¥32,380 (US$332) one way, and become available for booking tomorrow.

The Taiwan routes have been very popular since their launch, says Peach’s director Shinichi Inoue. "Kaohsiung is the leading city in southern Taiwan, and has very close ties to Japan... This new route will make it easy to travel from the Kansai area and the rest of Japan – not only to Taipei, but all of Taiwan. We look forward to an even higher level of exchange between Taiwan and Japan," he adds.

The airline recently collaborated with Mariko Shinoda, a member of Japanese pop group AKB48. Her face is printed on the livery of all A320-200s, helping to spread the company's message of “Cute & Cool” to the world.
