Melia Hotels International has opened a new property on the Italian island of Capri.
The 19-room Melia Villa Capri — part of the company's Melia Hotels & Resorts collection — is located in Anacapri and is the first "adults only" hotel on the island.
The property features a mixture of rooms and suites and offers personal services including heliopter transfers to and from Rome and Naples airports.
It overlooks a lemon grove and has bar/terrance and a restaurant specialising in "Mediterranean flavours".
The opening comes a year after Gran Melià Rome Villa Agrippina made its debut.
Gabriel Escarrer Jaume, vice chairman and CEO of Melia Hotels International, said: "Capri has always been a magic and unique destination for many travellers from all over the world seeking unforgettable Italian memories.
"We always look to further expand our portfolio in Italy, a breathtaking country where we have experienced a very positive performance in 2013, on the back of the recent additions such as Gran Melia Rome Villa Agrippina and Melia Genova."
Earlier this year, Melia rebranded its loyalty scheme (see news, February 22).
