Harrods has opened a new 560 sqm "mini-department store" at London Gatwick's South Terminal, with a greater focus on luxury fashion, jewellery and accessories.
The store opened on August 1 as part of the £21 million revamp to the South Terminal (see online news, July 18).
It is located where the duty free store formally stood, with passengers now passing through duty free on the way to the departures area.
The store caters for men and women and for all seasons. Brands include DKNY, McQ by Alexander McQueen, M Missoni, Paul Smith Jeans, Swarovski, and Vilebrequin swimwear.
The layout grants various brands their own boutique areas, giving more of a department store feel. This will be recognisable to customers familiar with the Heathrow T5 Harrods store.
On the far right-hand side, the more traditional airport offering of gifts, souvenirs and a food hall can be still be found.
Elsewhere, the food hall has replica tiles to mirror the look of the Knightsbridge flagship and specialises in teas and chocolates.
