China Airlines (CAL) has announced that it will be launching direct flights from Taoyuan, Taiwan to Busan, South Korea – the country's second largest city, and one of the biggest shipping and transportation economies in the world.
Starting September, Taiwan’s largest carrier will operate a return flight everyday except Fridays. A B737-800 will ply the route, and will feature a two-class configuration with eight business and 150 economy seats.

This will bring the number of CAL flights between Taiwan and South Korea to 27 per week. The airline currently operates 11 services between Taoyuan and Incheon, seven between Kaohsiung and Incheon, and three between Taipei Songshan Airport and Gimpo (see here).
The new route follows CAL initiating operations to Takamatsu, Japan in March (see here).
