Qatar Airways adds two flights to Amman route

10 Jul 2013 by GrahamSmith

Qatar Airways has added two flights to its Doha to Amman route, bringing the total number of its weekly Jordan services to nine.

The national carrier said the extra capacity will improve connections from Amman to around 100 cities across the airline's global network, offering passengers more choice with further convenience and flexibility to their travel plans.

The Amman service, which Qatar Airways launched in 1994, is operated by an Airbus A320 with 12 seats in first class and up to 132 seats in economy.

The airline's CEO Akbar Al Baker said: "As part of Qatar Airways' ever-expanding route map, a key pillar is to also evaluate existing routes and increase capacity where there is passenger demand.

"Qatar Airways can seamlessly connect travellers from Amman via our Doha hub to diverse cities like London, Dubai, Kuwait, Khartoum, Manila, Dhaka, Muscat and many others.

"At the same time, with our new additional services, we offer travellers from around the world increased connectivity to access popular heritage tourist spots in Jordan such as the ancient city of Petra."

Outbound flight QR402 departs Doha at 0745 and arrives at Amman at 1030 on Mondays and Fridays only. The return schedule - flight code QR403 - leaves Amman at 1130 and lands in Doha at 1410.

The daily service, flight QR400, takes off from Doha at 1250 and lands in Amman at 1535. Return flight QR401 departs Amman at 1635 and arrives at Doha at 1915.

Last month, the airline confirmed that London Heathrow and Paris Charles De Gaulle will be its A380 launch routes (see online news, June 27).
