Aegean Airlines will launch a summer route between London Stansted and Athens from July 11.
The thrice-weekly service, which will end on September 16, will be operated by a brand new A320 168-seat aircraft in dual class configuration.
Passengers will be able to take onboard one checked item of baggage up to 23 kilograms in weight.
Business class passengers and Gold card members will have use of the business lounge at Stansted and an extra checked piece of baggage.
This additional seasonal route has been introduced because of the increased demand for flights to Athens from London. Aegean already has three daily flights from Heathrow to Athens.
The new route will also connect with through flights to the islands of Corfu, Kos and Rhodes. Aegean will be the first airline to offer a business class service to these Greek islands from the UK, it claims.
The 3 hours and 55 minute flight will depart from Stansted on Thursday at 1715, Saturday at 2205 and Monday at 1245. Flights depart from Athens on Thursday at 1430, Saturday at 1920 and Monday at 1000.
Aegean Airlines also recently began twice-weekly flights from Manchester Airport to Athens (see online news, May 23).
