Millennium & Copthorne Hotels (M&C) has opened its first Millennium-brand property in Taiwan.
The 237-room Millennium Vee Hotel Taichung is situated in Taichung's District Seven, close to the World Trade Centre and Taichung City Hall. It stands 24 storeys high and has six floors below ground. It is the first hotel in the country to offer a Wi-Max wifi broadband network throughout the hotel and in all rooms.
There are nine different room types, including different variations of superior, deluxe, club, studio rooms; executive and millennium suites and a presidential suite that costs NT$120,000 (US$4,050) a night. Business facilities include multi-functional meeting rooms with 5.5-metre ceilings, and a grand ballroom that fits up to 500 people. The sixth-floor fitness centre comprises an outdoor swimming pool, a sauna and a gym. A spa will join the list of facilities at this property very soon as well.
Food and beverage offerings include two restaurants and two bars. Soluna all-day dining venue serves up international cuisine, while The Prime grill cooks up steaks and seafood. Lumi Bar is a a more relaxed venue and Moonight is the only hotel roof top sky bar in Central Taiwan.
M&C also owns the Grand Hyatt Taipei.
