Turkish-based Rixos Hotels has signed a letter of intent to join the Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) later this year.
Integration into the alliance is expected to take around six months, with an exact joining date set to be announced “in due course”.
Rixos operates around 20 hotels, the majority of which are located across Turkey, with additional properties in Croatia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Ukraine, Libya, Egypt and the UAE.
GHA was launched in 2004, and currently counts 14 hotel groups within its portfolio, including Kempinski, Leela, Marco Polo, Anatara and The Doyle Collection.
Australia-based Rydges Hotels and Resorts is set to officially rejoin GHA on April 1, having left the alliance in 2006 (see online news November 20, 2012).
