Centara Hotels and Resorts has launched The 1 Card – a new loyalty programme for guests staying in its properties in Thailand and overseas.

The card offers five Centara points for every 30 Thai baht or one US dollar spent on eligible charges including rooms, food and beverage, spa and laundry services.

This rate is doubled when bookings are made directly through centarahotelsresorts.com, and bonus points are also available for Silver, Gold and Platinum Elite members.

Silver status is attained after 15 eligible rooms nights, and attracts 10 per cent bonus points, while members benefit from Gold status and 20 per cent bonus points after 30 room nights, and Platinum Elite status (with 50 per cent bonus points) after 50 nights.

All members receive a welcome drink on arrival, while Silver members and above benefit from “exclusive check-in”, priority waitlist for room reservations, and a choice of pillows where available.

Gold and Platinum Elite members benefit from fresh fruit, complimentary newspaper, late checkout, free internet access and a choice of three in-room amenities, while Platinum Elite members also receive one free piece of laundry or pressing, guaranteed room availability and 9am check-in, and a best available one-category room upgrade or club access.

Points can also be earned at department stores within the Centara Retail Corporation portfolio.

There are no blackout dates on redemptions, and as an introductory bonus Centara is offering a 20 per cent discount on redemptions made before March 31, and 500 bonus points for bookings made before June 1.

The majority of the Centara’s properties are located in Thailand, although it does also offer hotels in the Maldives, Mauritius and Vietnam.

The group recently announced plans for a budget Cosi brand, adding to the upmarket Centara, Centara Grand, Centara Residences and Suites, Centara Boutique brands, and the four-star Centra offering.
