Bmi Regional to drop Aberdeen-Groningen route

30 Jan 2013 by BusinessTraveller

Bmi Regional is to drop its Aberdeen-Groningen route next month.

The carrier currently operates a three times-weekly service between the Granite City and Groningen, but this will cease on February 8.

In a statement the carrier said;

“Bmi Regional can confirm that its service between Aberdeen and Groningen will end next month with the final flight taking place on February 8.

“This was not a decision that was taken lightly. However, demand on the three times a week service, which was launched in 2004, has reduced significantly in recent months to the point where it simply is not viable to operate it and regrettably we have taken the decision to close the route.”

The carrier also flies from Aberdeen to Bristol, Esbjerg (Denmark), Manchester and Norwich.
